In and out of the water with triathlete Lauren Kerwick
A vibrant JAYD Swimwear ambassador and national title-winning triathlete, Lauren Kerwick brings grit, creativity, and heart to everything she does. From her love of training to the rituals that keep her grounded, here’s a little peek into her world.
Q1: What first drew you into triathlon, and do you remember the moment you knew it was "your sport"?
I’ve always loved swimming, and I started cross-training with running and cycling. Before long, I realised I wanted to do all three, so I gave triathlon a go, and the rest is history
Q2: Which leg of the triathlon (swim, bike, run) do you secretly look forward to the most, and why?
I don’t think there’s one leg I look forward to the most, I just really love racing as a whole and pushing myself to the limit
Q3. How do you stay motivated to train on the tough days, like when it's dark, cold or you're tired?
I genuinely love what I do, so I look forward to training even on the tough days. You realise how lucky you are to be healthy and able to push yourself, especially after an injury takes that away, so I’ll never take it for granted
Q4. What's a pre-race ritual or superstition you never skip?
I love putting on a few songs before a race, it gets me in the zoneQ5. What do you feel has been your greatest sporting achievement to date?
Placing 2nd at the Oceania Standard Distance Championships wasn’t just about the result, it was the race that proved to me I could truly have confidence in myself
Q6. What's one lesson triathlon has taught you, that you now apply to life outside of sport?
Never take the small things for granted, it's a privilege to be able to do the things you love everyday

Q7. If you weren't a triathlete, what career or passion would you be pursuing?
I’d be a florist, working on weddings and events, I love that field and being able to use my creative side
Q8. What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given (in sport or in life)?
To try and live in the moment and make the most of it
Q9. What's your go-to meal after a big training session or race?
Pesto pasta
Q10. If you could race anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I still haven't raced in Europe, so really would love that opportunity
Q11. Outside of triathlon, what brings you joy and balance day-to-day?
I love spending time with my loved ones, being creative and doing things I love
Q12. What is your favourite piece of JAYD Swimwear?
I’m obsessed with the Zimmy One Piece! The fit is amazing, and it’s perfect for both training sessions and everyday swims. And honestly, I’ll never go past Ruby, it’s my ultimate go-to.
